Sheree’s Bio:

My musical roots came from playing the piano as a child. My parents made me take classical piano lessons and entered me into recitals. I won ribbons for best performance. When I became a teenager, I discovered the guitar. Jimmy Page was my mentor.

As a teenager, I began taking lessons from various teachers around the south side of Chicago, and then later branched off on my own studying theory. As far as I can remember, I always had a passion to play in a rock band.

I began developing my ear more and taught myself to learn recordings of my favorite artists. I’d lock myself away in my room and practice for hours.

Eventually, I met a singer and together we studied song writing and collaborated on a lot of original material.

Originally we went under the name Nightmare, Inc. which quickly evolved into Velvet Hammer.

After the breakup of Velvet Hammer, I played in various bands around Chicago and the south suburbs and  began networking  with other musicians.

As time went on, I formed a second band called Iron Tears (originally Valhalla) with my male musician companions.

Iron Tears recorded a six song demo CD at Dungeon Studios in St. John, IN and began playing shows in Chicago and the south suburbs. I began gaining recognition as one of the few female guitar players in the city. As time went on, Iron Tears went through different members and evolved into the band FRAYD.

The name FRAYD derived from my last name Frey, which the band eventually changed the spelling of so people wouldn’t mispronounce the band’s name as"fry" with a d on the end of it.

FRAYD produced a 13 song CD of all original material written by E. Frey and myself. The CD was recorded at Star Trax Recording Studio.

After the making of FRAYD's first disc, "In Loving Memory Of All Things Lost"  the band held a CD release party at the recording studio to help promote it.

After shopping the "In Loving Memory" CD and playing shows, FRAYD once again evolved into yet another band. This time, calling itself Gravity Well in which a two song demo was produced.  The songs "Soul Beneath The Skin" & "Get Up" were featured.

The band carried on for sometime under the name Gravity Well until the earlier part of 2005, when we decided to change the name back to FRAYD due to a change in the lineup.

FRAYD has  a more recent disc available which was completed in January of 2008, "Reprogram/Resurrection" which features 12 more originals at their best.  The CD is  available at Itunes, CD Baby, Rhapsody, Amazon.  Please check it out for all original Chicago Rock!

For the past 6 years I have been studying recording and the art of producing in a studio setting and continue to record  with FRAYD and my new band The FireFlyz!

Plans for my  solo instrumental CD, "The Guitarist Volume I" is currently in the making and will feature 14 original songs written and arranged by myself.

The music will include heavy guitar riffs  with a twist of funk, blues and melodic undertones.  Keyboards will be added to the mix to add another dimension as well.   A new drummer will be featured on this disc!
